6 months old!

Is it really possible that Trystan is 6 months old already? The first two months of his life felt like an eternity, as we prayed for him to get better so he could come home to Rocky Top, and the next 4 months flew right by! So many have told us that babies change so fast, and they are right! He seems to be changing before our eyes. Trystan is a very happy boy, just be sure that bottle is ready when he is hungry (a true DeWolf). He is very good at smiling, and every once in awhile we hear the cutest laugh there ever was, that comes from deep within his tummy! So cute! Occasionally we will hear a very high pitch girly squeal, in which you will hear his dad say in the deepest voice possible, "Lower your voice son!" He loves to be moving, which means we hold him and walk.....heaven help you if you want to sit and relax! He also loves to lay in his crib, kick his feet and wind up his arms. We really do have a little cowboy on our hands, as he has a severe case of rodeo arm (arm swings up and down as the bull riders do for those of you who do not know what rodeo arm is).
You can see below that we just put Trystan's highchair together, and he seems to like it...a lot. Just wait until he knows what happens when he sits in it! He did ask where the cheerios were that were supposed to be on his tray! We have his next Dr's appointment on June 2nd, where we will know where we stand on introducing food to him. The Dr's are being very cautious not to rush things with him, considering he was born 2 1/2 months early. Developmentally speaking, he is ahead of the game, which is great. They base everything on his actual due date, not the date he was born, which gets confusing at times! We are so anxious to hear what his weight gain is!

Happy 6 month Birthday Trystan! We can't wait to see what the next 6 will bring!

Best Birthday Ever!

I had a great day today--so much to celebrate! I am constantly reminded of how God has so richly blessed my life each time I look into my son's eyes. I knew that becoming a mom was going to be very special, but I had no idea just how special!
The day was spent with my boys, and of course our dogs and puppies too! We worked on our garden, while enjoying the 85 degree weather! Alex cooked me a steak dinner that was to die for! Thank you Alex and Trystan for a wonderful day! I look forward to all that God has planned for us in the next year! I love you!

Clarification

Many of you have asked why Alex is holding Trystan out from him in the baptism pics, so I thought we'd better let you know why. He is not wet, or stinky, as many of you may think or have thought. Alex was telling everyone that Trystan was to be the center of attention, and that is why he held him out :o)

Trystan's Baptism

Trystan was baptized on Mother's Day! What a special way to spend my first Mother's Day! It was a very emotional, blessed day, full of reminders of how Trystan is truly a gift from God. A little boy who literally was so close to death, is here living a perfectly healthy life as a child of God! To know that God could have called Trystan home to Him, but instead is giving us this great opportunity to bring Trystan up in a loving Christian home is beyond comprehension. Many tears have been shed over our sweet boy, tears in fear for the unknown in the very first days and weeks of his arrival, and now happy, thankful tears for a healthy, happy boy! God is so Great, isn't he!

Some much requested video of me!

More Bumbo pics!

We've had a long, cold week which included snow, so I stayed inside where it was warm and played on my Bumbo. Can you see how much fun I have? Don't you just love my big navy blue eyes and my cute nose? Did you see the picture where I even got a kiss on my feet from Max, one of my Weimaraners? I can't wait until I get big and can play with him. Dad says Max likes to wrestle, which I have heard is fun for little boys AND big boys.

Have you heard I have a very exciting week coming up? I am going to be baptized on Mother's Day! Mom and Dad have been telling me all about Jesus. Did you know that He loves me so much and that He helped me to get better, as I was a very little, very sick boy when I was born? I can't wait to meet Him one day! I also will be having a lot of visitors this week. My Grama and Grampa Christenson are coming, my Uncle Dusty and Stef are coming, and my Grama Marie is coming! Grama Marie has not seen me since the day I flew to Denver and has never held me, so we are really looking forward to that! Uncle Dusty came to see me and hold me when I was in Denver, but that was a long time ago. He won't believe how big I am. And Stef has never met me, but I have heard she is so excited to come and love on me too!

Well, I gotta go. The sun is shining and Mom says we are going outside to see what my dad is up to. I am sure he is busy working on the dog kennels. I can't wait until I am big enough to help him!

Thanks for checking in on me!
